Carpet cleaning methods
Rotating Method of Carpet Cleaning
The technique uses a single disk rotary machine. The machine contains a tank of cleaner. Directly from the tank, a rotating brush scrubs carpets. To remove the dirty solution, a wet-vacuum is used.
It cleans carpets by stirring them. It is more effective to combine extraction with rotary for heavy soils.
Con: This job requires skill to avoid ovens becoming wet. You will need two machines to do this: A wet-vacuum and a flooring machine. For the carpet to be properly extracted, it needs to be cleaned in 4″ x 4″ sections.
Carpet cleaning using foam method
Using nylon roller brushes, apply the foam cleaner to the carpet. The residue can almost immediately be removed with water. The residue can be removed almost immediately with water after a thorough vacuuming.
Pros: The foam is a barrier that prevents water penetration into the carpet. The carpet is quick to dry.
Con: Doesn’t work with heavy soiling. Over-wetting the carpet can cause water damage. Finding the right equipment can be difficult. Brushes can damage elusive fibres.
Dry Powder Carpet Cleaner
This method is relatively new. Dry absorbent materials, impregnated with detergents and dry cleaning agents, are sprinkled over the carpet. Then they are scrubbed by rotary brushes. This powder holds dirt, and is then vacuumed up.
It is the best choice for those looking to avoid damage from water. The carpet can be immediately used. Powder can be applied as soon a spill happens to absorb the liquid.
Cons: Not useful on heavy soiling. It can be difficult to completely remove the powder and it may remain in your carpet causing further soiling. The brushes used to scrub carpets can damage the delicate fibers.
